Light blue, yellow and green horizontal bands with the blue twice as deep as the others, carrying a golden sun with straight rays in the upper outer corner.

- Rwanda adopted the present flag at the end of 2001.
History of the design
It replaced the red-yellow-green flag used since 1961, deliberately separating the state’s symbols from the period culminating in the 1994 genocide.
