How to identify it
Two stacked pennants form a crimson double triangle with a blue border, carrying a white moon above and a white sun below. Its double-pennant outline distinguishes it immediately from rectangular national flags.
Design and construction
- Construction
- Schedule 1 of Nepal’s constitution defines the double-pennon outline and both emblems through a geometric construction rather than a simple rectangular ratio.
History of the design
The present construction was standardised in 1962. Earlier versions commonly gave human faces to the moon and sun; the modern design omits them.
