    How to identify it

    Red, white, red horizontal bands with the white band twice as deep as each red one, carrying a green cedar tree in the centre.

    Adoption and legal status
    The cedar flag was adopted during the independence crisis in December 1943.

    History of the design

    A 1990 constitutional amendment standardised the cedar as entirely green rather than using a brown trunk.
