Red, blue, red horizontal bands where the blue band is twice as deep as each red one, with a plain white disc in its centre.

- The current flag was first used by the Lao Issara movement in 1945 and adopted by the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in 1975.
History of the design
Its white disc is set within a blue band twice the height of either red band and is associated with the moon over the Mekong.
