A red field with a wide inverted triangle reaching down from the top edge: black at the top carrying a rising yellow sun, then blue, then white.
Design and construction

- Adoption and legal status
- Designed by Sir Reginald Samuel and adopted 27 February 1967, when Antigua gained self-governing "statehood"; it continued as the flag at full independence in 1981.
- Construction
- A red field with an inverted triangle from the top edge in black, blue and white bands, topped by a golden rising sun; the V-shape formed by the triangle rests on the white band.
Officially documented meaning
Per the national government, the seven-point golden sun symbolises the dawn of a new era; black stands for African heritage and the soil, blue for hope, and gold, blue and white together for the sun, sea and sand. The V-shape signifies victory.
